This is just a note to self. I posted a photo of poutine, and doing so made me crave it. Luckily I'm in Canada, unluckily I'm on the wrong (low-fat) coast of the country. But, some time this year or next, I'll satisfy my craving to excess in Montreal and beyond. When the time comes, I need a list of good poutine shops.

I know you'll be shocked but the best poutine EVER (and it is not in Montreal) is at Bubba's in good ol' hick Kingston. Hum, Bubba's...
Thank you, Dorothee! But does poutine alone have a strong enough gravity (not gravy) to make me drive to Kingston? Sure it does, but I'll still try my best to rank the best poutine shops in Montreal and west of it.
I hear there's an annual French Canadian Festival held in Vancouver around March, and supposedly, superb poutine is served there. That gives me one more reason to wait for the end of the long winter that's yet to come... Does that give you a good enough reason to visit Vancouver?
